Eternals Star Kit Harington Teases Connection Between Black Knight and Jon Snow

One of the most exciting things about Marvel's Eternals is Kit Harington's involvement in the highly anticipated film. After all, this is Harington's first major role after Game of Thrones concluded in 2019. Still, it looks like the Gunpowder star still can't get away from Westeros. Harington has just compared Black Knight to Jon Snow, and for good reason.

In late 2019, it was confirmed that Harington will be joining Eternals as Dane Whitman. The news had Game of Thrones fans celebrating since it meant Harington will be reunited with former costar Richard Madden, who had played Jon's half-brother (later revealed cousin) Robb Stark.

Although Black Knight is a comic book character, that hasn't stopped fans from comparing Dane to Jon like their appearance, personality, and backstory. Interestingly, even Harington sees the similarity between the two characters, something that he pointed out on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.

"I realized he has a sword and rides a horse. And I was like, ‘I know this guy. I've been this guy.' But actually, he's quite different, so it's exciting," Harington said.

Sure, there are similarities but Harington is also right that Dane and Jon are quite different. For instance, Dane actually has a mystical sword while Jon wielded a normal (but equally effective) sword in Game of Thrones. We're hoping to see the difference between the characters when Black Knight debuts in Eternals this November.

Eternals is directed by Chloe Zhao and also stars Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek, Gemma Chan, Kumail Nanjiani, Lia McHugh, Brian Tyree Henry, Lauren Ridloff, Barry Keoghan, Don Lee, Gil Birmingham, and Harish Patel. The film is scheduled for theatrical release on November 5, 2021.
