Eternals Star Barry Keoghan Addresses Dune Sequel Casting Rumors

A while ago, it was announced that a sequel to Dune is officially moving forward. While the development is still in its early stages, fans are already wondering about who they'll cast on the new characters that are expected to appear in the sequel.

One name that is being brought up is Eternals star Barry Keoghan as Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen. The speculation heated up when he tweeted some cryptic emojis just around the same time when news came that the sequel has been greenlighted.

Speaking with Screen Rant in an interview, Keoghan was asked about the rumors regarding his possible casting in Dune: Part Two. He responded, "Is that what people are saying?" before adding, "Take it whatever way you want." However, when he asked if he would love to be part of the film, he answered with a "definitely" and said that he is a "massive fan" of Denis Villeneuve and Timothee Chalamet.

Since the sequel is still in the early stages of pre-production, it is very likely that they haven't done any casting yet for the new characters. Keoghan as Feyd-Rautha would be an inspired choice and it has been proven that fans would be game if he'll get cast for the role. After all, he has showcased in numerous films that he is a terrific actor and there's a reason to believe that he would ace the role of Baron Harkonnen's menacing nephew.

Dune has been delivering very solid performance at the box office despite the COVID-19 pandemic limitations and the same-day release on HBO Max. It is also expected to cross $300 million worldwide in just a few days, which will be considered a win-win situation for the studio. It has also received positive responses from both critics and the audience. It is also expected to be a major player during awards season, especially in the technical/craft categories.
