One of the best things about Eternals is the fact that it will be introducing the first deaf superhero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Amazingly, the character description for Makkari confirms that her awesome superpower comes with a cool advantage that only works for her.
The official character descriptions for the cast of Eternals have been shared on Twitter and fans were quick to notice that Makkari's description reveals the amazing way that her disability actually complements her special ability. Check it out here.
"Makkari is the fastest woman in the universe. She uses her cosmically powered super-speed to scout planets for the Eternals, and as the only deaf Eternal, the sonic boom that accompanies her cosmic running does not affect her," the description reads.
We're loving the idea of Makkari being so fast that she causes a sonic boom when she goes for a run. It's also awesome how her disability actually works to her advantage. In addition to that, we're looking forward to seeing just how fast Lauren Ridloff's character is in Eternals next year.
Eternals is directed by Chloe Zhao and also stars Angelina Jolie as Thena, Richard Madden as Ikaris, Gemma Chan as Sersi, Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos, Salma Hayek as Ajak, Lia McHugh as Sprite, Barry Keoghan as Druig, and Don Lee as Gilgamesh.
The film will follow the Eternals as they are forced to reunite on Earth to face their greatest enemy, the Deviants. The movie is currently scheduled for release on November 5, 2021.
