It can't be denied that Emilia Clarke is one of the hottest stars in the entertainment scene right now and a lot of fans have been clamoring for her to become part of a superhero franchise. Now, in case you've been living under a rock the last couple of months, the Game of Thrones actress is finally joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe in an undisclosed role in the upcoming Disney+ series Secret Invasion led by Samuel L. Jackson.

Following the news, Emilia took to Instagram to pretty much confirm that she's, in fact, Marvel-bound but she has yet to air her true sentiments regarding her blockbuster casting. Now, close to two months after the bombshell announcement, the Star Wars actress is finally breaking her silence regarding her involvement in Secret Invasion.

In an interview with ComicBook, Emilia expressed her excitement over jumping ship to the Marvel universe after a successful stint in GOT. She explained: "I just think what they're doing right now is so exciting and so cool, and so on the cutting edge of it. I feel like they're like the Apple of this world. To be part of that family feels like, 'Oh my god, I'm in the cool kid crowd. That's so cool.' Honestly speaking, the people that are making this are what pushed me over the line to really wanting to do it. I just think that everyone's heart and heads are in the right place with this one."

Judging by Emilia's statement, it looks like Marvel Studios didn't have a hard time wooing the actress and persuading her to join the MCU. I mean, it doesn't come as a surprise anymore when you think about it as a lot of actors would kill just to have a role in the billion-dollar franchise. Having Clarke on board is a huge deal on Marvel's part considering her acting credentials and I'm pretty sure she'll once again blow us away in Secret Invasion.

Secret Invasion is in early development.
