Phil Lord and Chris Miller may not be directing The LEGO Movie 2, but the film sure has been creative when it comes to its marketing. After the animated episode of Hot Ones with Queen Watevra Wa'Nabi, we have a new promo which has Emmet and friends playing a game on The Ellen Show. What's cool is, they've also realized Ellen DeGeneres in brick form.
The video is pretty short, but it does give us a good overview of the characters. Emmett is still kind of an idiot, with Lucy constantly trying to prove herself and Batman bringing in his constant arrogance. We do get a good look at General Mayhem who is voiced by Stephanie Beatriz (Brooklyn Nine-Nine).
The movie is set to be directed by Mike Mitchell who has worked on films like Shrek Forever After, Trolls, and Disney's Sky High. If you're bummed that Lord and Miller aren't at the helm of this film, it's a little consolation that the script and story for The LEGO Movie 2 come from them.
The citizens of Bricksburg face a dangerous new threat when LEGO DUPLO invaders from outer space start to wreck everything in their path. The battle to defeat the enemy and restore harmony to the LEGO universe takes Emmet, Lucy, Batman and the rest of their friends to faraway, unexplored worlds that test their courage and creativity.
Catch The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part in theaters Feb. 8.
