There's no denying that Elizabeth Olsen is one of Hollywood's hottest stars right now thanks to her involvement in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness painted her character Wanda Maximoff as the villain, even teasing her demise at the end of the film, a lot of folks are still under the impression that we'll see more of the Scarlet Witch.
Olsen has been playing it coy regarding her MCU status whenever she's asked about Wanda's potential return. While she's admittedly game to reprise the role, the 33-year-old star claims that much like the fandom, she's also being kept in the dark regarding future projects.
Well, it turns out that the Scarlet Witch will be making her return to Marvel television as early as next year. During Marvel Studios' San Diego Comic-Con panel centered on animated projects (via The Direct), it was revealed that Olsen will finally be joining the What If...? series. A preview of the second season's first episode titled "What If Captain Carter Fought The Hydra Stomper" was actually shown at the panel featuring the return of Captain Carter.
Olsen is credited in the opening of Episode 1 and even ends with the mention of Wanda being a "former villain". Details about the episode remain scarce as of writing but it would be safe to assume that it will serve as Wanda and Peggy's rematch, although it probably takes place in a different reality.
