Elizabeth Olsen on WandaVision Turning Wanda Into the Scarlet Witch

Disney+ series WandaVision has a lot of people excited since it's going to focus on Wanda and The Vision post-Endgame in some weird, altered reality. The teaser image has given us Wanda and the human form of Vision in a seemingly happy ‘50s setting while their shadows tease a more comic-accurate Scarlet Witch costume for Wanda and the humanoid somehow getting the Mind Stone again.

Interestingly enough, Elizabeth Olsen revealed that WandaVision would be the series that turns Wanda Maximoff into the Scarlet Witch. This actually makes some sense since the character has yet to experiment with magic like her comic counterpart. Olsen revealed all of this and more during an interview with BUILD by Yahoo.

Here's what Olsen had to say about the character and why her alias will change things:

"I'm just so excited for fans because if they know anything about the Scarlet Witch in the comics, I think this show will just get them so excited. This show will explore why she's known as Scarlet Witch and how she is Scarlet Witch as opposed to Wanda. We've always referred to her as Wanda in our films, so it's an exciting opportunity."

Since the series is expected to tease big things for Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness, so knowing that Wanda is going to embrace her Scarlet Witch name will be quite the moment for fans. For the sake of quality, I hope her embracing the name ends up leading to something important in the movie.

WandaVision will premiere on Disney+ in Spring 2021.
