Gwyneth Paltrow is among the longest-tenured stars in the Marvel Cinematic Universe but over the years, the Iron Man star has drawn flak for failing to remember some of her appearances in the billion-dollar franchise, most notably her cameo in 2017's Spider-Man: Homecoming which she seemingly can't recall.

Paltrow's forgetfulness has become a running joke amongst fans of the billion-dollar franchise and while some may find it amusing or even ridiculous, the Pepper Potts actress has actually been dealing with a memory disorder, something she bravely opened up about in 2005 after giving birth to her daughter Apple.

Now, Elizabeth Olsen is defending her MCU co-star from being mocked for her forgetfulness. Speaking with Variety, Olsen did admit that she finds it quite hilarious, saying: "right, right, right, right, right. Yeah, that’s very funny."

Olsen added that she understands Paltrow is more than just an actress and that outside Hollywood, she also has other things on her plate: "I know exactly what I’m doing. But I feel like she does a lot of things besides being an actor. So, maybe she just kind of feels like, 'Oh yeah, this is this thing I do sometimes. And then this is my real job, running this empire,' or whatever."

Meanwhile, Gwyneth's MCU future seems to be in doubt but it would be safe to assume that she'll make her comeback in the Ironheart series to play the role of Riri Williams' mentor now that Tony Stark is gone.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is streaming exclusively on Disney+.
