The entire comic book community was rocked a few months back following a report from several news outlets claiming that The Amazing Spider-Man 2's Jamie Foxx will be making his way to the Marvel Cinematic Universe to reprise his role as Electro in Tom Holland's third Spider-Man film. A few days after it was reported, Foxx seemed to have confirmed it on social media by posting marvelous artwork of him going toe-to-toe with Holland's version of Spidey.

We still have no confirmation whether this version of the iconic Spider-Man villain will be the one from Andrew Garfield's universe or not but a lot of webheads are convinced that Marvel Studios and Sony are going all-in with the Multiverse concept and that Jamie will indeed be playing the same character.

However, in an interesting turn of events, Jamie Foxx is once again casting doubt on his involvement in the project. In a recent interview with Cinema Blend, Foxx gave out an interesting yet confusing response when asked about the film. He said, "You're absolutely right, I can't speak on it. But if I'm in it, I'll be so happy."

As bizarre as his response might have been, it's worth noting that oftentimes, actors aren't exactly allowed to give off too much about the projects they're a part of. This is MCU we're talking about, it's no secret how they'd like to keep things under wraps. On the other hand, maybe Foxx is just messing with us as he gears up to make his comeback as the electrifying baddie.

The yet-to-be-titled Spider-Man 3 hits cinemas in December 2021.
