Elden Ring, the highly-anticipated action RPG from FromSoftware (with world-building elements from A Song of Ice and Fire author George R.R. Martin) and Bandai Namco, is finally going to be released on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and Xbox One next month. Now, the developer has confirmed that there will be a Day One patch.
The news comes from the announcement that's part of a lengthy special broadcast from Bandai Namco that also revealed that the action RPG has gone gold at the Taipei Game Show 2022 that premiered recently.
"Elden Ring was originally slated for release in January of this year, and it has been pushed back once to February," said FromSoftware producer Yasuhiro Kitao during the aforementioned broadcast. "But please be assured, the title will be ready for sale on February 25th. The master version has already been submitted, and right now, the team is working on a day one patch, to make sure everything in the game is just so."

It's fairly standard for big video game releases to have a "day one patch" to ensure that a definitive version is sent off to be manufactured and distributed while still being able to improve on the video game.
When asked if the development of Elden Ring was going smoothly, FromSoftware's Yasuhiro Kitao replied, “It is.
