Westworld Star Ed Harris Reportedly In Talks to Join Marvel's Wonder Man Series

Marvel Studios is currently working on the Wonder Man TV series that is reportedly set to begin production soon. However, the details regarding the project still remain under wraps although we've been hearing some major updates about it in the past couple of months.

Aquaman star Yahya Abdul-Mateen II has already been tapped to play the titular hero while Ben Kingsley is confirmed to reprise his role of Trevor Slattery after last appearing in Shang-Chi. There are also reports that Better Call Saul star Bob Odenkirk is in talks to join the series although it remains unconfirmed.

Now, it looks like the series may have recruited another cast member to its ensemble. According to notable insider @CanWeGetToast on Twitter, Westworld and Top Gun: Maverick star Ed Harris is in talks to play the villain in Wonder Man. However, they didn't mention the role that he is being considered for.

We do have to take note that the news has not been confirmed by Marvel Studios nor reported by the major trades so we still have to take it with a grain of salt. There is a possibility that the actor's casting will not happen and another person might take his place instead.

If Harris does end up getting cast in the series, it will be an exciting development since it adds more pedigree to the project. It will also mark the Oscar-nominated actor's first comic book movie role in his decades-long career if he'll sign up to be part of the series.

Marvel Studios executive Stephen Broussard recently confirmed the series' development and gave some clues on what we might expect on the hero's MCU debut.

"[Wonder Man will] be definitely influenced by the comics. One of the things that we're excited about it is that it's going to feel very unique. It's not going to feel like anything you've quite seen in the MCU before," he said.

"And the kind of stories we can tell on Disney+, which has been fun. Like streaming, serialized storytelling is a totally different muscle. So, we're having a blast making that one."

Since the details are scarce at the moment, it's hard to tell right now which character could Harris play in the series although his age is a clue regarding what they might be angling for the hero's main foe. We should be hearing more details about the project in the coming weeks.
