Marvel's Echo: Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio Confirmed to Return

After making her debut last year in Hawkeye, Maya Lopez is set to appear next in her own spin-off series Echo, which is currently in production. For the past few months, there have been rumors that the series will also see the return of Daredevil and Kingpin although none of the people involved in the series has corroborated it. Now, it looks like their involvement has been made official.

The Hollywood Reporter has officially confirmed that Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio are returning in Echo reprising their roles of Matt Murdock/Daredevil and Kingpin, respectively. This follows their MCU appearances last year when Cox showed up for a quick cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home and D'Onforio appeared as the main villain in the final episode of Hawkeye.

The report also indicated that one of the storylines of the series will involve Matt Murdock/Daredevil searching for his former ally. According to The Weekly Planet podcast, that "ally" is going to be Jessica Jones, who was played by Krysten Ritter in the Netflix Defenders series.

Cox and D'Onforio are joining the cast that already includes Alaqua Cox, Chaske Spencer, Tantoo Cardinal, Devery Jacobs, Cody Lightning, Graham Greene, and Zahn McClarnon.

The series will focus on "Maya Lopez, whose ruthless behavior in New York City catches up with her in her hometown. She must face her past, reconnect with her Native American roots and embrace the meaning of family and community if she ever hopes to move forward."

It is exciting to hear the confirmation that Cox and D'Onofrio are officially returning to the series, which is something that we've been speculating for months. Not only it will mark their next MCU appearance, but it will also be the first time that we will see them together since the main Daredevil series on Netflix.

It's interesting to see how the two characters will exactly play into the plot of the series and whether Cox's appearance will also set up the already-announced fourth season/reboot of Daredevil.
