EA Won't Lose the Star Wars License Anytime Soon

Despite rumors of some grumbling coming from the House of Mouse, Disney has confirmed that EA won't be losing the Star Wars license anytime soon. This will delight those that are currently enjoying Star Wars Battlefront II and disappoint those that dislike the multiplayer shooter. For the time being, it looks like EA controls the fate of future Star Wars games so let's all hope that Jedi: Fallen Order is really good.

The House of Mouse confirmed that EA would be keeping the license during the company's recent earning's call. Disney CEO Bob Iger claims that the company has a good relationship with EA Games and that they won't be making a game studio anytime soon due to previous failures. That's kind of sad but what can you do?

With EA claiming that they have learned from their pre-launch Battlefront II mistakes, it seems like the license is in good hands. Then again, the company's upcoming Anthem looks to have some of the mistakes made from Battlefront II, though initial reactions have been positive. Huh, it looks like the company was serious about that.

As of this writing, only two EA Star Wars games have been released; Battlefront and Battlefront II. Jedi: Fallen Order is slated for release this Fall but no specific date for the game has been given.

Star Wars Battlefront II is available now. Don't bother getting the first game since the sequel is still getting regular updates and new modes.
