EA Star Wars Announces CG Short Film Ahead of Squadrons Release

We still need to wait until next month before we can get our hands on Star Wars: Squadrons. However, EA is making sure that gamers stay hyped up for the highly anticipated new title. The publisher has just announced a new short film will be unleashed ahead of the game's release.

The announcement was made on the official EA Star Wars Twitter account. Check it out below.

"Eyes up pilots. We've got a brand new CG short for #StarWarsSquadrons coming Monday, 8:00 AM Pacific Time," the tweet reads.

The description for the CG short reads as follows:

"Meet one of the ace pilots you'll fly alongside in STAR WARS™: Squadrons in this original standalone CG short, made in collaboration by Motive Studios, Lucasfilm, and ILM."

This is welcome news indeed considering that gamers want to know a little bit about how the title will work. Of course, the short will not feature any gameplay footage but it's great to know the backstory of the other characters that will appear in the game.

Squadrons is set after the Battle of Endor and the destruction of the second Death Star and follows two customisable pilots who are flying for New Republic's Vanguard Squadron and the Empire's Titan Squadron.

The Star Wars: Squadrons short will be uploaded on the official EA Star Wars YouTube channel. You can wait for the premiere here. The game will be released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on October 2.
