Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves Drops Action-Packed Trailer

Dungeons & Dragons is arguably the most popular role-playing game of all time that is still beloved and played by many today. For years, we've seen attempts on making a new live-action film based on the game which was finally given a greenlight in 2019 when Game Night directors Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley were tapped to helm the project.

Today, during the film's San Diego Comic-Con panel, Paramount Pictures and eOne unveiled the much-awaited official trailer of Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves which gave us a glimpse at the action-packed quest of a group of characters led by Chris Pine and our look at Hugh Grant's villainous character.

You can check the trailer below:

Based on the footage, it looks like the film will be a blend of action and comedy as hinted by some of the quick comedic moments that they showed throughout the trailer. At the same time, they are also honoring the source material and the nature of its gameplay. Hopefully, it will be a satisfying film and will be much better than the panned 2000 adaptation.

Besides Pine and Grant, the cast also includes Michelle Rodriguez, Justice Smith, Regé-Jean Page, Sophia Lillis, Chloe Coleman, Jason Wong, and Daisy Head. Goldstein, Daley, and Michael Michael Gilio wrote the screenplay based on the story conceived by Chris McKay and Gilio. Jeremy Latcham, Brian Goldner, and Nick Meyer serve as producers.

The premise reads: "A charming thief and a band of unlikely adventurers undertake an epic heist to retrieve a lost relic, but things go dangerously awry when they run afoul of the wrong people." The film will bring "the rich world and playful spirit of the legendary roleplaying game to the big screen in a hilarious and action-packed adventure."
