Dresden Files: Peace Talks Trailer Officially Released Online & Reveals Title of Book 17

The official book trailer for Jim Butcher's upcoming Dresden Files novel, Peace Talks has finally been released, and it features Harry Dresden (played by Jason Bernardo) finding out that his half-brother, Thomas Raith (Kamy Bruder), has been imprisoned for being an assassin, but the trailer doesn't reveal what crime he's done.

You can watch the trailer here.

The trailer also stars Sarah Flannery as Karrin Murphy, Christopher Showerman as John Marcone, and Birgit Ludemann as Lara Raith. It looks like Dresden and Lara Raith will team-up for the mission to free Thomas, but it seems things will become more complicated. Even Ebenezar (Adam Gregor) shows up to tell Dresden how dumb his idea is - whatever that is.

The most surprising part of this trailer is the reveal of Dresden Files Book 17: Battle Ground, which is set to release on September 29, 2020, just a few months after the release of Peace Talks!

The trailer was directed, written, and co-produced by Priscilla Spencer, who will do an interview with Butcher at 12:30 p.m. today on his website. Spencer will also be compiling reaction videos to the Peace Talks trailer from fans, so feel free to send your clip to yearofdresden@gmail.com for possible inclusion.

iO9 has also released the first chapter of Peace Talks on their website.

Here's what the Butcher previously said about Peace Talks:

"A summit of the world's supernatural powers is being held to try to establish some sort of equilibrium and to get everything settled down in the wake of the vanishing of the red court. And I'm pretty sure everyone's going to sit down and have a nice cup of tea, there'll be a talk, and walk away holding hands."

Peace Talks will hit shelves on July 14, 2020. It's now available for pre-order on Amazon. This will be the first new Dresden Files novel since 2014's Skin Game. Battle Ground is set to release on September 29, 2020 (Oct. 1 in the UK).
