Twitch has been on a relentless rampage as of late with its enforcement of the Digital Millenium Copyright Act (DMCA), a move that targets thousands of channels for their "unsanctioned" use of copyrighted music. It pretty much affects the site's streamers and from what I understand, it does not allow them to make use of their original content on the streaming service which is completely baffling. A lot of streamers have already called foul over the suspension of their respective channels for reasons still undisclosed and apparently, it has also affected well-known streamers.

That includes DragonForce guitarist Herman Li who has fell victim to the massive takedown which forced him to take his work to their band's official YouTube channel. Li is an avid streamer on Twitch where he'd often showcase his music, play games, and interact with fans and fellow artists. Announcing the unfortunate suspension on Twitter, Li wrote: "My Twitch channel is currently suspended. Today I will be streaming on YouTube instead."

It's still unclear why Twitch has resorted to taking down channels as of late but according to some industry experts, Li was, in fact, another victim of the said takedowns and the awful thing about it is the DMCA does not allow the artist or creator to appeal the ban and save their content. I think that's pretty unfair and uncalled for considering the fact that these streamers put in a lot of effort just to get their content out there, especially amid the pandemic. Not only that, a lot of streamers rely on services like Twitch to sustain their livelihood so that's just below the belt. Hopefully, Li and Twitch can resolve the issue before it's too late.

Li has not given fans an update regarding his Twitch channel's suspension.
