Dragon Shield Responds to High Demand For More Art Matte Sleeves

Wizards of the Coast

For years, Arcane Tinmen's Dragon Shield has been a top brand for Magic: The Gathering card sleeves and other accessories. Earlier this year, the company released various art sleeves but only one of them stood out: the limited edition Gaial art matte sleeves. I've tried it myself, and I have to say that they're the best kind of sleeves ever made. The quality and artwork. However, after nearly a year, they haven't made another production run of the Gaial art sleeves. They released seven new variants of art sleeves recently, bringing their total number of art sleeve products to ten, but only one of them is in matte and they're extremely hard to find. They cost nearly $40 right now on eBay stores and you'd be lucky if you find one in a local shop.

Redditor Rohkey sent Arcane Tinmen an email about the future of art matte sleeves, and the company said that they're working hard to produce more of them but they're having "production issues" with the art mattes specifically. You can read the response below:

This probably explains why they changed their initial plan to make their first gen art sleeves matte to only the Gaial being matte. As you can see in The Professor's review video below, he gave Dragon Shield art matte sleeves an "A" rating even though the one he presented wasn't Gaial. Note that the kind of artwork he focused on in this video is not available matte.

Well, that's good to hear that Arcane Tinmen is still doing their best to make more art matte sleeves. It seems that they're very difficult to produce but they're definitely worth getting. So far, I bought about ten boxes already and I'm still looking for more.
