Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero is heading to theaters this summer, and anime fans will finally get to see Gohan and Piccolo protect planet Earth from the Red Ribbon Army, the infamous criminal organization first introduced in the original Dragon Ball series. Now, the voice actor for Piccolo is set to return to the anime franchise and has shared some fun sketches that he illustrated for the most powerful Namekian in the universe.
Piccolo voice actor Toshio Furukawa may not be on the same artistic level as series creator Akira Toriyama or Dragon Ball Super artist Toyotarou, but it's clear that he has a passion for the character that he has helped bring to life for decades.
The official website for Dragon Ball showcased Furukawa's sketches of the Namekian who will return to the big screens this summer, and you can check them out below:
Here's what Furukawa said in a recent interview released in the official Dragon Ball website:
Piccolo is getting a new transformation in Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, and if you've seen the trailers, you'd know that the Namekian warrior will fight Gamma 1 and Gamma 2, the new androids that Dr. Hedo created for the Red Ribbon Army.
One of the teasers also revealed that Piccolo will go in an undercover mission in the headquarters of the Red Ribbon Army, and it looks like he will discover the mysterious villain teased in the latest trailer.
