Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero Confirms Release Date For North America & Other Regions

Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, one of the most highly-anticipated anime movies coming this year, will be hitting theaters in Japan starting this June, and now, Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment have announced their plans for worldwide release for the shonen film beginning this summer.

Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment have officially confirmed that Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero will be Crunchyroll's first worldwide theatrical release, and it will be kicking off this summer starting in August.

Thanks to Crunchyroll, the sequel movie to 2019's Dragon Ball Super: Broly will be releasing in North America, and thanks to Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment, it will be released in international regions such as Europe, Africa, Middle East, Latin America, Australia/New Zealand, and the rest of Asia in both its own original Japanese audio with English subtitles and with English dub.

Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero will be released first in Japanese theaters on June 11, 2022. It was originally set to release in April 2022, but due to a third-party hack in Toei Animation's studios, the movie's release date was pushed back.

Crunchyroll shared a new official synopsis for Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero: "The Red Ribbon Army was once destroyed by Son Goku. Individuals, who carry on its spirit, have created the ultimate Androids, Gamma 1 and Gamma 2. These two Androids call themselves 'Super Heroes'. They start attacking Piccolo and Gohan… What is the New Red Ribbon Army's objective? In the face of approaching danger, it is time to awaken, Super Hero!"
