Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero Blurb Teases Gohan's Big Fight and New Characters


Toei Animation and Shueisha are set to make a big announcement for Dragon Ball Super at this weekend's Jump Festa, one of the biggest anime events of the year in Japan, and of course, they will share new details for the upcoming film, Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero. The anime recently shared an update, and it looks like Gohan will have an important role in the movie's story.

The official Dragon Ball website recently shared an update ahead of the special panel for the anime at Jump Festa. A new poster for Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero was recently revealed, and it features Gohan in his classic blue outfit. A new blurb also accompanied the image, teasing Gohan's big fight and all-new original characters.

"With their capes fluttering, Gamma 1 and Gamma 2 can be seen striking a couple of slick poses! Plus, there are some all-new original characters who we'll just have to wait and find out more about, no matter how tough that may be! Wearing his uniform and taking center stage is Gohan, who looks to be gearing up for the fight of a lifetime alongside Piccolo, Goku, Vegeta, and Pan!"

The movie's title and blurb make it clear that Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero is super hero-themed. We already know that Gohan has a super hero alter-ego known as the Great Saiyaman, but it looks like the character is going back to his roots with the return of his classic blue outfit.

Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero is set to release in Japan in 2022. Toei Animation hasn't officially announced the theatrical release date of Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, but a release window may have been revealed.
