Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero First Teaser Trailer Revealed at Comic-Con


Toei Animation has released the first teaser for Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, the next feature film scheduled to release in 2022. Fans have been highly-anticipating the return of Dragon Ball Super anime since the original run of the series ended in 2018, and although Sheuisha has been releasing new chapters of Dragon Ball Super monthly, fans are still wondering when the shonen series will return in anime form. Thankfully, Toei Animation announced in May that a new Dragon Ball Super feature film is in the works.

During a panel at Comic-Con@Home 2021, Toei Animation has announced the next Dragon Ball Super movie's official title has been announced: Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, and the studio released the first teaser for it.

The first teaser doesn't actually feature any footage from Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero nor does it reveal any plot details, but it teases Goku's expressions and movements that incorporate "a lot of ingenuity using different technologies" and as the teaser shows, it looks like the film will incorporate a blend of CG animated movement and hand drawn aesthetics. Toei Animation said that they're trying new things with the next feature film.

The panel didn't reveal major plot details, but Toei Animation said that Piccolo, Pan, and Krillin will take center stage in the film's story, and that it will be set in the future of the show's timeline.

Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero is scheduled to release sometime in 2022. Toei Animation hasn't announced any plans for a new season of Dragon Ball Super yet, but you can read more details about potential new episodes here.
