Fans of the Dragon Ball franchise can rejoice, as a new trailer for the upcoming Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero film has been released. As a result, fans are eager to identify all of the Easter eggs in the trailer, which leads to a slew of theories. Part of this stems from fan theories on Cell's possible return in Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero.

If we take a trip down memory lane, Cell is one of the most enigmatic and powerful villains in the entire Dragon Ball franchise. Moreover, Cell is the main antagonist of the Imperfect Cell, Perfect Cell, and Cell Game sagas. Also, he is a bio-android who declares himself as a perfect being with unrivalled strength.

Furthermore, Cell is regarded as the ultimate creation of Dr. Gero, the Red Ribbon Army's brilliant scientist. Unfortunately, Cell was killed by the father-and-son Kamehameha of Goku and Gohan, thanks to Vegeta's distraction.

The next Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero film follows the rebirth of the once-crippled Red Ribbon Army as they seek their long-awaited vengeance on Goku's family and friends using their latest superhero androids, Gamma 1 and Gamma 2. Because the plot revolves around the Red Ribbon Army, fans have concocted a slew of hypotheses relating to Cell's ostensibly triumphant return.

However, other fans say that Cell's debut is doubtful due to the challenging animation required for the character, which will consume a significant portion of the film's budget. As a matter of fact, Cell's design is far more difficult to animate than Frieza's. Aside from that, Cell is underappreciated and not well-received in Japan, in contrast to Frieza, who has a large fan base, which explains his numerous resurrections in the franchise (I feel sorry for him).

In light of this, here are some of the fan theories circulating about Cell's possible return in the Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero film.

As seen in the trailer, Pan appears to play a significant role in the film, as Piccolo begins training the young hybrid Saiyan in the same way he did Gohan. The details are unclear, but it appears that Pan has been kidnapped by the nefarious organization, the Red Ribbon Army, which as a result lures out Gohan.

Moreover, many fighting scenes have also included Gohan, which excites fans and keeps them on the edge of their seats. According to some fans, the film appears to be preparing for the new iteration of Cell.

As a result, fans are eager to put together everything that has happened in the past and what will happen in the future film. Some predict that Gohan's tremendous return heralds Cell's long-awaited comeback to the series.

The fact that Gohan is featured prominently in the film would seem to support the fan notion. What better way to reintroduce them than with this film? It appears to be the ideal venue for both the underappreciated and neglected characters to finally get their due. Please bring back Peak Gohan!

Finally, Gohan will be able to reclaim the potential he lost. During the cell games, Gohan outperformed all of the Z Fighters, and even Goku, Vegeta, and Piccolo recognize his power. He was supposed to be the strongest man of his time, but he was nerfed in the end.

By the end of the Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero trailer, it was revealed that something is inside a capsule that is about to explode inside the modernized Red Ribbon Army headquarters. While the film has revealed its brand-new androids, Gamma 1 and Gamma 2, fans are hoping that Cell will be the film's secret character and ultimate weapon of evil.

We've all seen how powerful and evil Cell was in the past. In fact, his perfect existence is all that matters to him. In case you missed it, Cell's true motivation for the Cell Games saga is not only to demonstrate his perfect strength but also to destroy everything that he considers imperfect, whether human or not. In a nutshell, anything but himself.

On that note, Dragon Ball fans associate Cell's logic with the trailer's mention of the "ultimate weapon of evil." They were convinced that Cell would emerge from the controversial capsule and annihilate everyone he deemed imperfect.

If you haven't seen this tweet, you'll be surprised at how dedicated this dragon ball fan is to uncovering every minor detail on the cover of V-JUMP Magazine. The cover is actually from a collaboration game related to the upcoming film. Fans are once again divided as to whether this represents Cell as the unrevealed character or if he is simply a part of the card game.

If you can't tell, Goku is standing on a character that looks like Perfect Cell.

Is Cell finally making his long-awaited comeback? Will we get to see one of his new forms? Maybe the ultimate form? Or are fans only clinging to the hope that he will return? Fans also mentioned Piccolo's Voice Actor, Toshio Furukawa's tweet, which includes a brand new Perfect Cell action figure, to back up this claim.

Cell Fans are definitely crossing their fingers as the movie arrives on April 22, 2022.

Because the anime is known for its strong history of reviving characters, whether they are villains or not, Cell will be an ideal candidate for the next long-awaited resurrection.

Fans believe that now is the perfect time for Cell to return and steal the spotlight, as Gohan has also emerged from his shell to take his rightful place as one of Dragon Ball's faces, alongside Goku and Vegeta.

Aside from that, there is a lot of foreshadowing and parallelism in some of the scenes in the trailer, which intensifies the rumored comeback.

The bonus chapter of Dragon Ball Super's manga adaptation may have found a way for Cell to make a shocking comeback. Fans are quick to relate the events that occurred in the bonus chapter to the upcoming film, with high hopes of integrating them together. They recognize this as the most likely explanation for Cell's timely appearance in the Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero film assuming he truly makes a grand villain entrance.

Trunks and Goten agreed to protect the inhabitants of Android 17's island in the bonus chapter of the Dragon Ball Super manga. This event occurred following the Tournament of Power, which revealed what had happened to the dynamic duo. As previously stated, Android 17 has failed to notify Trunks and Goten that some Cell Juniors are currently terrorizing the area.

Previously, Cell Juniors were extinguished, but they have recently regenerated from the nuclei of the defeated Cell Juniors. If we recall correctly, Perfect Cell created these cell juniors, implying that they all share the same DNA.

Perhaps, a brilliant scientist will, in some way, seize this opportunity to knit and experiment with some things that will allow Cell to fully resurrect just in time for the Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero film.
