Dragon Ball Super Manga Changes Gohan's Tournament of Power Gi

The Dragon Ball Super manga has been a favorite amongst fans, with some even preferring it over the anime. Although it is behind the show, it does streamline the show and expand the world of Dragon Ball in ways that the anime doesn't, like Vegeta achieving Super Saiyan God (or Super Saiyan Red).

While not the biggest change ever made, old-school Dragon Ball Z fans will be happy to know that Gohan does not wear his gi from the Super anime. Instead, he wears his Piccolo-inspired purple gi for the upcoming Tournament of Power, which some fans prefer.

Once the image came out jokes were immediately made at the expense of Goku. Fans said that Gohan dressed like Goku in the anime but dressed like his "dad" in the manga, implying that Piccolo is the character's real father. Considering how much closer Gohan is with Piccolo, it's hard for any Goku fan to argue this.

Admittedly, Gohan doesn't look bad in his dad's gi but there's something more appropriate seeing him in purple. It's probably nostalgia since Gohan has been fighting in purple gi since the Saiyan Saga and only broke away from that near the end of the Buu Saga.

Fans can read the Dragon Ball Super manga through Viz Media. The anime can be viewed on Crunchyroll and Funimation.
