Dragon Ball Super continues to hype fans up with its big anime return. Toei Animation recently announced the new release date for the highly-anticipated film, Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero. While we wait for its June 11 release date, there's a lot to be excited about for the manga series by Akira Toriyama and artist Toyotarou, and now, Shueisha has shared the first preview for Chapter 83, titled Bardock vs. Gas 2.
The preview comes from the official website of Dragon Ball Super, giving us a first look at this month's manga chapter. Twitter user DBSChronicles shared the English translation for the first draft pages.
As you can see, the draft pages reveal Bardock's fight with Gas in Planet Cereal forty years ago, and it looks like Goku's father is having a hard time trying to take down the powerful villain while telling Monaito to stay distant. It looks like Monaito intends to use the Dragon Balls, but what could he wish for?
Readers already know that Bardock went to Planet Cereal under Frieza's orders, and it was there Goku's father saved the young Granolah from being killed even though the Heeters killed the lone Cerealian survivor's mother. In the present time of the Granolah the Survivor Arc, Goku is fighting Gas, who received a power boost thanks to the Heeters' wish to make him the strongest warrior in the universe being granted by the legendary dragon of the Dragon Balls.
It's likely that the next chapter will conclude Bardock and Gas' final showdown, and we could see the story shift its focus to the present fight after Goku learns about what happened to his father's iconic battle forty years ago.
