Phil McGraw, better known as Dr. Phil, is famous for his talk show, Dr. Phil, which has been running for 21 years and is about to come to an end.

The former psychologist has a doctorate in clinical psychology, though he opted not to renew his license to practice in 2006.

He rose to fame when he appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show in the late 1990s. From there, the Queen of All Media helped him launch his own show, Dr. Phil, formatted as an advice show, in 2002.

Aside from hosting, McGraw also executive produces The Bull and The Doctors. He also co-founded the telemedicine app Doctors on Demand.

Phil McGraw’s Earnings and Net Worth

Celebrity Net Worth revealed McGraw earns $60-90 million from his various endeavors. He owns a hundred percent of his show content and pays CBS to air it by giving it a generous cut of its advertising revenue and product placement.

Through syndication, he has become one of the highest-paid personalities on TV. He used to earn $88 million per year during his peak.

The End of Dr. Phil

Dr. Phil will come to an end in the spring after 21 seasons.

McGraw decided to stop producing new episodes when the 2022-23 season ended. However, CBS Media Ventures hoped to keep its syndication on the air with a package to repeat the show through at least the 2023-24 season.

Aside from producing the primetime programming, he’s sure busy, also hosting two podcasts. Dr. Phil keeps afloat, though, with 2 million viewers per episode, the highest-rated daytime talk show following Live with Kelly and Ryan.

“I have been blessed with over 25 wonderful years in daytime television,” he said in a statement via Variety. “With this show, we have helped thousands of guests and millions of viewers through everything from addiction and marriage to mental wellness and raising children. This has been an incredible chapter of my life and career, but while I’m moving on from daytime, there is so much more I wish to do.”
