Jung Hae In, Goo Kyo Hwan, Son Suk Ku and Kim Sung Kyun are set to return to D.P. Season 2. The four will reprise their roles as An Jun Ho, Han Ho Yeol, Lim Ji Seob, and Park Beom Gu and work together with new cast additions.

Fans will once again see the special military group that chases down deserters. So, what tasks are they going to do in D.P. Season 2?

The coming of the show’s second season was already confirmed last year. The series then shared a sneak peek at its script reading on Tuesday, May 31.

Apart from the returning main cast, director Jan Hoon Hee will also make a comeback to helm the second season, Soompi noted.

It will also feature new cast members, like Ji Jin Hee, who will play the role of Goo Ja Woon, a chief legal officer of the army headquarters. Kim Ji Hyun will also join the series as Lieutenant Colonel Seo Eun, Ministry of National Defense Prosecutor’s Office’s operations officer.

So, what will happen in the D.P. Season 2? There is a high expectation of what will happen to An Jun Ho in the next season, per Pinkvilla.

Everyone wants to know the future of Jung Hae In’s character after the previous season saw him crossing the entrance line. Does this mean he will become a deserter himself or continue his role as an army officer?

Cast Members Talk About D.P. Season 2

Jung Hae In can’t help but share his excitement in doing the show’s second season.

“I’m so happy to be able to [film] D.P. Season 2 together, and I’m excited and looking forward to the thought of meeting great people again on set,” he said. “Please look forward to seeing Private Ahn Jun Ho.”

Goo Kyo Hwan also talked about reprising his role. “I’ve been waiting. It’s nice to see [the cast] again. I look forward to [working with everyone],” he stated.

In addition, Kim Sung Kyun also shared his excitement about the good memories and the love they had received that would continue in the second season.

“I’ll work with an unchanging heart,” he vowed.

Lastly, Son Kuk Ku admitted he was grateful for the show’s return.

“Since it’s a project that I began through the close friendship I’ve built with the director, the days of filming were always enjoyable without any burden,” he explained. “I want to see all the actors and staff soon on set.”

Meanwhile, the new addition, Ji Jin Hee, talked about his character, which he hadn’t attempted to do until now.

“He feels unfamiliar, but I’m also highly anticipating how I will go on to shape him,” he admitted. “I’ll prepare well so that I can create an awesome picture with the other characters.”

Kim Ji Hyun, on the other hand, said he’s happy to work on a “great project.” “I’ll happily work to think over how I can contribute support [to the drama],” he added.

D.P. Season 2 is now in the works and set to be out later this year or early 2023 on Netflix.
