The dating rumors surrounding BTS' V and BLACKPINK’s Jennie are yet to die down. It remains a hot topic, and different theories and more evidence are now coming to light.
As many believe the viral photo, which ignites the heightening dating rumors, is fake, netizens claim the couple in the picture may not be V and Jennie at all. Some even say that the guy is the model Taek, who looks exactly like the BTS member.
Is V the Guy with Jennie in the Picture?
Several netizens suspected Taek was the guy in the picture. He has uncanny similarities with the K-pop idol, from their faces to their hairstyles to their profiles.
In fact, when he wears sunglasses, he can be easily mistaken for V.
Take is a model based in Korea, so it’s not far that he’s connected to Jennie—if she’s indeed the woman in the picture—considering she frequently models, too.
According to Koreaboo, Taek was also on Jeju Island when V and Jennie were allegedly there, adding more fuel to the fire.
This made the netizens’ assumption strong. So, as Taek claimed many were messaging him to confirm the truth, he finally broke his silence in a post on Instagram.
“The guy in the picture going viral now on Twitter is not me,” he stressed. “So, you don’t need to message me anymore.”
He even directly responded to the netizens’ comments, clearing the guy was not him.
V and Jennie’s Viral Photo
The viral photo of V and Jennie in question saw them in a car together, traveling on Jeju Island. The windows were untinted, so they were naturally seen inside.
This news came after Jennie and Big Bang’s G-Dragon had allegedly broken up, though they never confirmed their romance.
“This is a photo that was sent in today. It might be they’re lookalikes, but it is allegedly a photo of two top idols. The female idol, in particular, has been rumored to have broken up with an OG idol member,” the photo’s original uploader said via the Instagram account @dailyfashion_news. “So fans seem to be more receptive to this photo as true. We won’t name any names as we are not able to fact-check the photo.”

Many believed the image was only edited. Some ARMYs even pointed out its similarities to a screenshot from an episode of BTS’s reality series, BTS In the Soop, where V was driving with J-Hope.
The setting of the two snaps was very similar, from V’s position and outfit while driving to J-Hope’s posture.
Despite the noise of the rumors, though, HYBE and BigHit Music are yet to address the issue. YG Entertainment, alternatively, neither confirmed nor denied the claim.
A statement sent to the media outlet Chosun simply said, “We have nothing to say.”
So, until today, the rumors about V and Jennie dating remain rampant.
