Dora And The Lost City Of Gold Star Danny Trejo Saves Baby In Car Accident

He might play tough guys in his films but Danny Trejo is an all-around good guy. The Dora and the Lost City of Gold star proved this by saving a baby that was trapped in an overturned vehicle during a car accident.

According to ABC7, Trejo was one of the witnesses who saw a two-car collision in Sylmar, California on Wednesday, August 7. One of the vehicles, which happened to have a baby on board, got overturned during the accident. The Machete star and another bystander immediately ran over to try and rescue the child from the car.

Once the child was safely out of the vehicle, Trejo tried to distract the young boy while his grandmother was being helped by firefighters.

"He was panicked. I said OK, we have to use our superpowers. So he screamed 'superpowers' and we started yelling 'superpowers," Trejo said. "I said do this, with the muscles. He said 'muscles.'"

"We got kind of a bond," he recalled fondly. "I kept facing him away from the accident."

Although three people involved in the accident were brought to the hospital, none sustained any life-threatening injury. Nevertheless, Trejo had a message for all motorists.

"Pay attention," he said. "And the only thing that saved that little kid was his car seat, honest to God."

Trejo will provide the voice of Boots in Dora and the Lost City of Gold, which hits theaters on August 9.
