Doom Patrol Adds Supernatural Star Mark Sheppard As DC Comic Book Magician

If you've seen the latest teaser for Doom Patrol, you've probably noticed a familiar face. Mark Sheppard, who is best known for playing the demon Crowley in Supernatural, has joined the cast of the DC Universe series.

In the promo for Cult Patrol, we get a glimpse of Sheppard in the last few seconds declaring that the Creator is coming and the world will be unmade. Robotman is clearly confused. "Who is this guy?" he asks. "Is he someone's uncle?"

Sorry, Cliff, he isn't. According to Cinemablend, Sheppard will be playing Willoughby Kipling in the episode. The outlet confirms that the character will call on the Doom Patrol to "help him stop a nihilistic cult, and by doing so, prevent the end of the world." Sounds like a mission that the team can get into right away.

It's still unclear if Doom Patrol will stay true to Willoughby Kipling's comic book roots. In the comics, he happens to be a hard-drinking magician who likes to smoke, curse, and piss his companions off. In addition to that, Willoughby wears a trench coat. Considering his time as Crowley on the CW series, it looks like Sheppard will have no problem getting into character.

The synopsis for Cult Patrol reads as follows:

"Willoughby Kipling (MARK SHEPPARD) conscripts the Doom Patrol into helping him avert the end of the world by stopping a nihilistic cult."

Cult Patrol is the fourth episode of Doom Patrol. The episode will air on DC Universe on March 8.
