Domhnall Gleeson On General Hux in Star Wars: The Force Awakens

One of the Star Wars: The Force Awakens characters still shrouded in serecy is General Hux, played by Domhnall Gleeson, whom we know is one of the leaders of the First Order, along with Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) and Captain Phasma (Gwendoline Christie). His character was first revealed at Comic Con, but they didn't reveal any details about him.

Speaking to Total Film magazine, Gleeson talked about his character and why he was drawn to the character. Here's what he told Total Film (via Games Radar):

"Yeah, I mean you look at him and you realise he's not a good guy! He's got an English accent so he can't be good." He said. Gleeson went on to add that Abrams described Hux as "merciless", before getting worried he was giving too much away, "Is that what he said?".

We still don't know if we'll see his character in Episodes VIII and IX. Who knows? Maybe Hux will turn out to be the main villain of the whole trilogy. Gleeson also reportedly said that, aside from the obvious, what drew him to take the role was his desire to "play something different". He also described the breathtaking experience of stepping on set:

"That's one of those ‘pinch me' moments. I experienced it in a major way on Harry Potter and it's a similar thing with Star Wars, except you look down and you're in the gear and you have stuff to say and you're like, ‘Holy God.' And yes, it's very difficult to remain cool about stuff like that. There's no two ways about it, it's totally brilliant."
