In his bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey, along with his wife Meghan Markle, in 2021, Prince Harry revealed he used the inheritance to fund himself and his family after his father, King Charles, financially cut him off following their infamous Megxit in 2020.
“I had to afford security for us,” he said. “[I was cut off] in the first quarter of 2020. But I’ve got what my mom left me, and without that, we would not have been able to do this.”

Elsewhere, Prince Harry reportedly got a bigger inheritance from his great-grandmother, Queen Mother, than his brother when she passed away in 2002.
Though she left her entire state with her daughter, Queen Elizabeth, BBC reported that she put two-thirds of her money into a trust fund for her great-grandkids.
Prince Harry and Prince William shared about $17.9 million, though “the bulk of the cash” reportedly went to the former. Allegedly, Queen Mother was fully aware that the Prince of Wales would financially benefit when he became the king, so he gave more to the spare.
