Dead to Me Season 3 has finally returned to Netflix after a long wait.
Prior to getting released, the showrunner already revealed that this will be the last season of the show. This got its avid fans speculating how the show would end, especially since the dramedy contained numerous twists. What fans didn't expect, however, is that one of the beloved characters ends up dying in the season finale.

Does Judy Die in Dead to Me Season 3?
Sadly, yes, the character of Linda Cardellini meets a doomed fate at the end of the show due to her health. When Dead to Me Season 3 began, it was revealed in a routine scan that Judy has stage four cervical cancer. This is an unexpected diagnosis that Judy and Jen (played by Christina Applegate) pair go through after being involved in a hit-and-run at the end of Dead to Me Season 2.
Towards the end of the show, we see the two head off to Mexico for what becomes their final vacation together. This is because Judy decides not to be involved in clinical trials and accepts her fate.
How Does Judy Die in Dead to Me Season 3?
This one is up for interpretation. And many believe that Judy really does meet her untimely death during their vacation. Jen gazes out into the sea and sees a sailboat in the ocean, the one that Judy takes off in.
And at the start of the season, the show opened with a dream sequence that would later become reality for Jen. We learn that the night before Judy dies, she lets Jen know that she's in pain, which signifies that her cancer is quickly progressing. And when Jen looks for Judy in the morning, she knows what has happened to her bestie. As it turns out, Judy has taken the sailboat into the ocean and likely died in the process.
But then again, this is a TV show and in such cases, the absence of a 'body' never implies that the character has died. While we can't wait but wish it were the case, however, there will no longer be a Dead to Me Season 4. And that's really the logical thing to do to end the show peacefully.
