Chisato lives in the anime original as seen in the show's finale episode. A lot of viewers were worried after the revelation in episode 9, wherein it was said that Chisato only has two months left before her battery completely drains.

To make things worse, Chisato needs to avoid using too much energy if she wants to last for two months, something that she does not agree with.

The female protagonist still wants to use her abilities to save people and hunt down criminals. What Chisato does not know is that there is a way to save her.

In the finale episode, Mika and Yoshimatsu had a conversation about a way to save Chisato. Yoshimatsu confirmed that they already have the artificial heart for Chisato so Mika had to do what he needed to do: kill his partner to save the main protagonists' life.

Although there were hints that Chisato could've died, it was later revealed that she is indeed alive but she decided to hide from her friends knowing that death is imminent.

After she woke up from the hospital, she decided to flee but it was Takina who found her eventually. Takina also informed the blonde protagonist that her new heart came from Yoshi, who purposely left the artificial heart as a gift for her.

Chisato decided to throw away her Alan Institute necklace and start a new life in Hawaii. While the ending was wholesome and happy, fans still believe that there are some aspects of the story left untold.

One of these is Majima's next move. This might be done on purpose for a potential sequel.
