Doctor Who's Peter Capaldi Joins Cast of The Suicide Squad

Everything looks to be coming together for James Gunn's The Suicide Squad, and the film has already assembled some interesting actors for the cast, the latest being Taika Waititi. What's cool is, it looks like the series will also feature the 12th Doctor.

According to Deadline, Peter Capaldi has been cast in The Suicide Squad. We don't really have any information on his role, but I have a feeling it's going to be someone from the government. Besides playing Doctor number 12, Capaldi also fantastically plays angry government agent Malcolm Tucker in The Thick of It and In the Loop.

Here's a compilation of Capaldi going at it:

Of course, Capaldi could play someone entirely different, but seeing as James Gunn is at the helm of the film, he would want to make good use of what makes Capaldi a fun actor.

Besides Capaldi, the movie is also said to be looking at Saturday Night Live's Pete Davidson for a "small cameo" role. No details have been revealed about the part as well, but hopefully it's memorable enough to have Davidson be cast.

Things seem to be going smoothly for Gunn's DCEU project, and the table read is said to be taking place next week. As for production, The Suicide Squad is set to start near the end of the month on Sept. 23 at Pinewood Studios in Atlanta.

Catch The Suicide Squad when it hits theaters Aug. 6, 2021.
