Doctor Who’s Latest Episode the Least Viewed in the Series After 31 Years

It looks like there's a bit of trouble with Doctor Who. The latest episode of Jodie Whitaker's take on the iconic Time Lord has become the worst viewed after 31 years of the science fiction series' 57-year history, an alarming report for Whovians all over.

According to Cosmic Book News, last Sunday's episode of Doctor Who, "Nikola Tesla's Night of Terror" was only viewed by 4.04 million viewers in the UK. That might not seem as bad, however, the lowest number of viewers that Doctor Who has ever had was way back during Season 23 in September 1986 where the episode "Mysterious Planet" Part Four only got 3.7 viewers tuning into the show.

Some of the reasons why there's been such a decline in the new iteration of Doctor Who is poor acting, bad writing, and what some would say a "woke" approach to the show. Right now, season 12 has a very poor audience score coming at only about 14% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Rotten Tomatoes users have been slamming the series for its decisions, calling the show garbage, a disappointment, too serious, and unoriginal.

Sunday's episode of Doctor Who has become the eight least-viewed episodes of the entire run of the series which started in 1963. It's also become the lowest viewed of the entire series.

Interestingly enough though, the episode "Nikola Tesla's Night of Terror" was well received by critics, taking in an 82% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes. It seems like Whovians and critics have very different opinions of the episode.
