There is little doubt that some Whovians are not yet ready to say goodbye to Jodie Whittaker just yet. Still, it looks like the Thirteenth Doctor is set for an epic final Doctor Who episode before she regenerates. Sacha Dhawan has just hyped up an epic moment between the Time Lord and The Master later this year!
Sacha Dhawan was introduced as the latest incarnation of The Master in Doctor Who Season 12 and although we haven't seen him again since, it looks like he will be back very soon. Dhawan recently spoke to Doctor Who magazine where he confirmed that Jodie Whittaker's Time Lord and the Master are set for one epic final showdown (via Cultbox).
"I wanted it to be epic and moving, and when I watched the episode myself, I thought, 'I'm so glad we landed that'," Dhawan said. "Because it kind of takes your breath away a bit. So it's always been really easy with Jodie. I do my thing and she does hers, and it just works."
He continued, "And that's because, even though the characters have so much animosity between them, me and Jodie really adore each other. Which actually makes the scenes much more electrifying, and a lot more moving than I thought they would be."
Dhawan then shared his reaction to the upcoming special. "Especially in the Centenary Special. I watched the episode on my laptop in a dark room the other day, and I was just a blubbering mess," he said.
It sounds like there is going to be an epic final episode for Jodie Whittaker and we can't wait to see what's in store in her last outing as the Time Lord before Ncuti Gatwa takes over as the Fourteenth Doctor.
The Power of the Doctor is set to premiere in October 2022.
