Doctor Who Series 12 Has Started Production

Well, that didn't take too long. Jodie Whittaker and the rest of the Doctor Who cast have reunited and are already working on Series 12.

The announcement was made through an awesome photo of the cast that was shared by the official Doctor Who Twitter account run by BBC. The image features Whittaker with Bradley Walsh, Mandip Gill, and Tosin Cole in some interesting outfits. Take a look at the tweet below.

The Thirteenth Doctor in shorts? Graham O'Brien in Birkenstocks? It doesn't look like the cast is in the UK at the moment. Could this mean that Series 12's first episode will be filmed in an exotic new location where the weather is just fine? We're looking for new updates on this one really soon.

Although Doctor Who Series 12 has already started production, that doesn't mean that the new season will air in 2019. Instead, we'll have to wait until next year to see more of the Thirteenth Doctor and her companions in action.

We're still unsure who will be the guest stars in Series 12 but former Doctor Who actress Catherine Tate has admitted that she is hoping that Donna Noble will be asked to return. Although Tate admitted that she hasn't seen Series 11 yet, she is still hoping that showrunner Chris Chibnall will invite her back.

"It wouldn't be up to me because you can't just turn up on the set uninvited. They don't like it, even with my wedding dress," Tate had said. "But that would be nice."

Doctor Who Series 12 will air on BBC in 2020.
