Doctor Who is Getting A Magic: The Gathering Universes Beyond Crossover Set

Wizards of the Coast has announced a Magic: The Gathering crossover product with the popular sci-fi franchise Doctor Who. The upcoming Universes Beyond product was announced during Wizards Presents, an event that also revealed more details for the upcoming The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-Earth and the crossover with Warhammer 20,000 as well as the upcoming MTG sets for 2023.

The Doctor Who crossover product will feature all of the show's Doctors and their companions, along with a host of villains. The set will include four companion decks and four Collector boosters, and is planned to release in the third quarter of 2023.

The crossover will celebrate Doctor Who's 60th anniversary. Additionally, the Doctor Who Universes Beyond set has been created with the show's next season in mind – meaning that it will feature Sex Education star Ncuti Gatwa, who will play the Doctor in the upcoming season, along with villains that haven't appeared on the sci-fi series yet.

In addition to this Doctor Who crossover set and The Lord of the Rings Universes Beyond set, Wizards of the Coast also announced the following Magic: The Gathering expansions for 2023: Dominaria Remastered, Phyrexia: All Will Be One, March of the Machine, March of the Machine: Aftermath, Wilds of Eldraine, and The Lost Caverns of Ixalan.

It looks like the Phyrexians will be taking over the Magic multiverse starting with this year's Dominaria United, which is expected to feature familiar planeswalkers and the return of poison counters.
