Doctor Strange Will Be a Big Ally in Thor: Ragnarok

Even before Doctor Strange finally premiered in theaters, there have been clues that he will be sharing the silver screen with the Asgardian god Thor. We've seen the little on-set photos that ultimate led to the big reveal of that beer scene with Thor and Doctor Strange.

That end-credits scene also assured fans that Doctor Strange will be helping Thor in the next movie.

Now, Disney has teased in a newsletter to fans (via CBM) that the Sorcerer Supreme will be playing a much bigger role than anticipated for the third installment, Thor: Ragnarok.

"If you need even more intergalactic, world-saving action, Thor: Ragnarok in November brings together Thor, the Hulk, and Doctor Strange to face off against intergalactic baddies both familiar and new."

This statement hints at two things. One, Doctor Strange won't just feature a small cameo like Thor did in the former's movie. If he anything, he may be playing quite the role as far as fighting off bad guys is concerned. After all, Thor won't be spending all his time and energy finding the Mystic Arts Master just for a five-minute onscreen appearance, right?

And second, the mention of intergalactic action is said in the same breath as Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, which premieres earlier this year in May. It's very possible that this is how we'll finally and concretely feel how the gang of space rogues will fit in nicely with the rest of the Avengers.

We'll have to wait and see where this will take the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but to say that we're excited with the developments is a great understatement to open the year.
