Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness Synopsis Seemingly Confirmed

While Marvel fans may have just recently seen the exit of director Scott Derrickson from the production of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Marvel has yet to announce delays on the production of the Doctor Strange sequel. The film's release date is still set in place, and last week, the description of the movie was leaked online.

Now, a new listing from Production Weekly (via ComicBook.com) seemingly confirms the synopsis that was leaked on the internet, giving fans an idea of what to expect from the upcoming film.

According to the listing, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will see the repercussions of the events of Avengers: Endgame with the Sorcerer Supreme looking into the Time Stone. However, Doctor Strange will be forced to take action when he meets an enemy in the movie.

"After the events of Avengers: Endgame, Dr. Stephen Strange continues his research on the Time Stone. But an old friend turned enemy seeks to destroy every sorcerer on Earth, messing with Strange's plan and also causing him to unleash an unspeakable evil."

This new synopsis on Production Weekly is very similar to what was leaked online last week, though it does highlight how this new enemy in Doctor Strange 2 is going to come in the guise of an old friend of Stephen Strange. Aside from that, Production Weekly's listing for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness reveals a few of the film's unconfirmed cast, including Doctor Strange actress Rachel McAdams.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is still set to premiere on May 7, 2021.
