Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness Producer Teases Scarlet Witch as the Most Powerful Avenger in the MCU

In a chat with Empire Online, Richie Palmer, the producer of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness teases how Wanda would evolve in the movie, “I don’t know who’s more powerful than Wanda. Meeting the Wanda Maximoff at the end of Endgame would have been a lot for Strange. Who comes out on top as the most powerful being in the universe? Maybe we find out at the end of the movie.”

Palmer added that the title of the movie itself has its own merits on Wanda Maximoff, “Madness has many different definitions. It’s maddening for Doctor Strange to have to watch the love of his life marry someone else. And it’s maddening for Wanda to have been told, ‘There’s a book, and there’s a chapter about you in that book you should read, and secrets you don’t know about yourself.’”

Undeniably, Wanda Maximoff is one of the strongest Avengers to ever exist and while many would argue that Captain Marvel would be standing in her way as the most powerful, others would vouch for the Scarlet Witch.

See, since the start, she had been the strongest of all, but she was just hesitant to let go. However, in Infinity War and Endgame, the powers of Wanda became incomparable. No other Avenger could do what she did in the first film. She was destroying the Mind Stone on one hand while on her other hand, she was dealing with Thanos who holds five Infinity Stones, and yes, she was successful had Thanos not cheated with the Time Stone.

That sheer strength of her power to destroy an Infinity stone is already telling, but dealing with Thanos who holds five Infinity Stones, well, that is more than something! It just goes to show that she could go against the Mad Titan even on a one-on-one. Even without the stones, her power is just too much for him. Oh, and she did all these with a broken heart of killing off the one she loves most.

In Endgame, had Thanos not called to rain fire, Wanda would’ve been successful in killing him. She was the only one who caused fear inside of him as if he was uncertain of his own capabilities. Little by little, Wanda stripped Thanos off of his armor and he was too scared for his life.

By the time WandaVision arrived, she finally learned that she is destined to be the Scarlet Witch and while Agatha describes her as if she were a bad omen, Wanda lets go of her emotions once more and said goodbye to her family.

Do you think Scarlet Witch is really the most powerful Avenger?

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness arrives in theaters on May 6, 2022.
