Doctor Strange Director Reveals The Current Timeline We’re Experiencing

In Avengers: Infinity War, Marvel fans get to see Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) using the Time Stone to peer into the future of 14 million timelines to see how the Avengers might win against the battle with Thanos (Josh Brolin).

That's a whole lot of timelines. It's only natural to wonder which timeline we're currently experiencing, especially with all of the tragedies that we're experiencing this year.

Sonic the Hedgehog actor Ben Schwarts posed the question to Doctor Strange director Scott Derickson on Twitter.

"Dear Doctor Strange, which one of the 14 million outcomes are we currently in?" the actor posted online.

"8,675,309," Derrickson posted, giving an easy reply.

The director might have given a random number, but it's great to see that the filmmaker interacting with fans on social media. The director gave up his role in the Doctor Strange sequel due to creative differences with Marvel. Right now, Spider-Man director Sam Raimi is in charge of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Raimi taking on the Doctor Strange sequel was major news for Marvel fans. It's been years since the director took on a comic book movie and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is indubitably one of the most highly-anticipated movies of the MCU.

There isn't that much information about the movie just yet, however, Derrickson did previously say that he planned to make the Doctor Strange sequel the "first scary MCU movie." Raimi may want to change the tone of the film though, so we'll have to wait and see.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is set to premiere on March 25, 2022.
