Doctor Strange Actress on Trial for Alleged Sexual Abuse of Underage Girl


Zara Phythian, star of 2016's Doctor Strange is in hot water after allegedly abusing an underage girl from 2005 to 2008. The 36-year-old British actress, who played Brunette Zealot, one of Kaecilius' (Mads Mikkelsen) followers in the Marvel Studios blockbuster is currently on trial for accusations of grooming and sexual abuse of a woman whose identity has yet to be disclosed.

According to the complainant, Phythian and her husband Victor Marke began to take advantage of her when she was only 13 years old up until she was 15. Newsweek reports that the couple is accused of multiple sex offenses, with the woman even claiming that they filmed most of their sexual activities.

She alleges that Zara gave made her consume alcohol before daring her to perform oral sex on her husband. According to the accuser, she and Marke had sex around 20 times during that period.

The complainant told the police that she looked up to Phythian, who at the time was a martial arts instructor in Nottinghamshire. She said that she knew what they were doing was wrong but she just didn't know "how to get out of the situation or say anything". Both Phythian and Marke have denied the allegations.

As it stands, both Phythian and Marke are facing 14 charges of sexual activity with a child. Aside from that, Marke is also facing four charges of indecently assaulting a child resulting from complaints from another woman, an allegation he also denied previously.
