Doctor Strange 2 Allegedly Set for 2020 Release

Fans have been waiting for Marvel Studios to announce their 2020 slate but the company has stayed silent, even though Spider-Man: Far From Home spoiled a bunch of it. Still, Marvel has been pretty quiet about what we would see in 2020 but rumors have stated that we would see Black Widow in the year. Now, a new rumor has also suggested that we will see Doctor Strange 2 as well.

According to Deadline, Doctor Strange 2 is one of the films likely to come out next year and that the screenplay for the movie has already been completed. Supposedly. No details about the potential sequel were given but we can all assume that Baron Mordo will be the villain, especially after how the first film ended.

If this is true, it seems like Benedict Cumberbatch's Stephen Strange is one of the many heroes who will be returning after Endgame. Many of us are expecting those that turned into ash would be coming back, though that makes the returns of Gamora and Loki more unlikely since they were killed by Thanos before he got the Infinity Gauntlet.

The first Doctor Strange might have followed the MCU formula a little too much but it also had some outstanding visuals and one of the better climaxes in the studio's history. It was fun seeing Strange win by trolling the villain, rather than just shooting a bunch of CGI lasers at him.

Doctor Strange 2 might be coming out in 2020. Avengers: Endgame comes out on April 26.
