Doctor Strange 2 Producer Teases An Epic Final Battle Between Wanda and Strange

Naming Marvel's most powerful superhero has been a constant debate throughout the history of Marvel. In the Infinity Saga, Marvel Studios president, Kevin Feige revealed that the most powerful Avenger was Brie Larson's, Captain Marvel. But at the events of Avengers: Endgame, one character who almost ripped out Thanos was Elizabeth Olsen's Wanda Maximoff, who is now developed as The Scarlett Witch after WandaVision.

Assuming that Wanda is now the most powerful superhero in the MCU, especially after Wanda takes possession of the Darkhold which gave her character more sinister abilities, she could be a big problem if she turns out to be a villain.

Doctor Strange is officially the new anchor of the MCU, especially with how the Multiverse is falling apart and Strange is the only one who can help his allies as revealed in Spider-Man: No Way Home, where Doctor Strange helped Parker in helping to conceal his identity. No Way Home also introduced a brief understanding of how the multiverse works.

Now that Wanda is confirmed to be the big bad for the Multiverse of Madness, it looks like Wanda and Doctor Strange would go on an epic battle at the end of the film.

During an interview with Empire, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness producer, Richie Palmer was questioned about who was more powerful: Wanda Maximoff or Doctor Strange. The producer honestly revealed that Wanda is the most powerful, saying "I don't know who's more powerful than Wanda."

Palmer explained, “Meeting the Wanda Maximoff at the end of Endgame would have been a lot for Strange. Who comes out on top as the most powerful being in the universe? Maybe we find out at the end of the movie.”

“It’s maddening for Doctor Strange to have to watch the love of his life marry someone else. And it’s maddening for Wanda to have been told, 'There’s a book, and there’s a chapter about you in that book you should read, and secrets you don’t know about yourself.'" the producer added.

Doctor Strange fighting Wanda would be heartbreaking, especially after the two had been in the same team in the Avengers: Endgame. Wanda's development as The Scarlett Witch and her possession of the Darkhold undoubtedly proves that she is more powerful than Doctor Strange. The Sorcerer Supreme has to pull some new tricks out of his sleeves to defeat Wanda in the upcoming sequel.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will premiere in theaters on May 6.
