Doctor Strange 2 Funko Pop Announcement Reveals New Sorcerer Character

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is one of the most highly-anticipated films this year and, as teased by the recent trailer, it looks like it is going to be the most bonkers MCU film yet as it seems that they are going all their way to explore the multiverse and feature the appearances of other Marvel characters including Patrick Stewart's Charles Xavier. As we're heading closer to the release, we've also been getting a lot of merchandise news for the upcoming film and one of them hinted at a mysterious new character that hasn't been revealed before.

Recently, Funko unveiled the Pop! figures for the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness which has the characters that we expect such as Doctor Strange (who himself will be the 1000th figure in the Marvel line), Scarlet Witch, Wong, America Chavez, Master Mordo, Supreme Strange, Defender Strange, Rintrah, and Christine Palmer. However, there is one character that was also unveiled named Sara that caught a lot of attention as she hasn't been featured yet in any other trailers or posters.

You can check the first look at the Funko Pop figures below:

Here's a closer look at Sara's figure:

A lot of fans are speculating that she could be Sara Wolfe, who first appeared in the comics in Doctor Strange (Vol. 2) #38 released in 1979 and was the love interest of Wong. There are also some who are speculating that it could be Sara Krowler (aka Baroness Mordo), who was Karl Mordo's mother in the comics. Either way, based on the look of the figure, we can pretty much say that she is likely one of the sorcerers in Kamar-Taj.

The most interesting part here is that Sara hasn't been featured yet in any other trailers or posters so we also don't know which actress is possibly playing her in the film. Given that the character has her own figure, we can pretty much guess that she will have a major role in the film or at least be involved heavily in the main conflict that the characters are dealing with.

So far, Marvel Studios hasn't revealed any details regarding Sara's involvement in the film, but the toy announcement did reveal that she will somewhat be part of it and possibly have a bigger role. But then she hasn't been featured yet in any trailers so it's hard to tell yet about who this mysterious character really is and what she has to do with the main story. For now, all we can do is speculate until they reveal another detail about her in the future trailers or in the film itself.
