Doctor Strange 2: Chiwetel Ejiofor Confirms Karl Mordo's Return, is Already Filming for MCU Sequel

We already know that Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is currently in production but it looks like a major character has joined the film. Chiwetel Ejiofor has just confirmed that he has started filming for the Marvel Cinematic Universe sequel and will return as Karl Mordo.

Ejiofor was recently a guest on BBC's The One Show where he confirmed that he is now in the UK to work on Doctor Strange 2. "I'm shooting Doctor Strange," he said. Ejiofor also played coy about his current location although fans already know where the movie is being filmed.

"It's very exciting and I'm looking forward to that. I'm in an undisclosed location at the moment," he said with a laugh.

It certainly sounds like Ejiofor is having a great time on the set of Doctor Strange 2. After all, he would be reunited with co-stars Benedict Cumberbatch and Benedict Wong on the project that is being helmed by Sam Raimi. There's also the possibility that he would be working with frequent Raimi collaborator Bruce Campbell so filming must be fun.

But what can fans expect of Mordo in Doctor Strange 2? The previous film concluded with an end-credits scene showing Mordo attacking Jonathan Pangborn and stealing his mystical energy. With that in mind, there's a possibility that he will be one of the main villains in The Multiverse of Madness.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will also star WandaVision actress Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch. The film is currently in production and is scheduled for release on March 25, 2022.
