Doctor Strange 2 Actor is More Than Eager to Work With Spider-Man’s Sam Raimi

It looks like Doctor Strange actor Chiwetel Ejiofor is eager to work with Spider-Man director Sam Raimi on Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Speaking in an interview with Games Radar about the upcoming Doctor Strange sequel, Marvel star Chiwetel Ejiofor expresses excitement over the opportunity to work with the respected comic book movie director.

Sure, everyone expects Raimi's direction and tone to differ from the one established by Scott Derickson in the first Doctor Strange movie, but everyone's eager to see what the Spider-Man director is going to do, and that includes Ejiofor.

"I love Sam Raimi, so I'm very excited that he's making a film, the second Doctor Strange," Ejiofor began. "He brings to anything he does, a wealth of imagination and passion. In this genre, he's just one of the seminal figures. I remember seeing Darkman when I was a kid. It was beyond, it's so amazing."

It turns out that the Marvel star has long since been a fan of Raimi, even before the director worked on Sony's Spider-Man trilogy.

"So I think he has an incredible mind and I think he's really able to bring that mind into his storytelling in a really unique way, and it's very suited to the world that's been created by Doctor Strange, and I'm very excited to see what he does with that world," the actor added.

Right now there isn't that much news about the production of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The Doctor Strange sequel was pushed back for a second time from November 5, 2021 to March 25, 2022. Marvel's been adjusting its calendar the past few months thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic and it seems like Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will be starting a bit late.

Fans will just have to wait for production to begin to get to learn more about Doctor Strange 2.

Phase 4 of the MCU begins when Black Widow premieres on November 6, 2020.
