Doctor Sleep Star Shares Interesting Details About Ewan McGregor's The Shining Sequel

There is little doubt that Doctor Sleep is set to be one of the most terrifying adaptations of a Stephen King novel. After all, the sequel to The Shining will follow the adult Danny Torrance tracking down a cult that is feeding on psychic children. Interestingly, Emily Alyn Lind has shared some interesting details about the highly anticipated film.

Lind recently spoke about Doctor Sleep on the Now What?! podcast and she basically revealed the premise of the movie.

"So, basically, it picks up from when Danny – played by Ewan McGregor – is going down the wrong path, a lot like his dad, who's played by Jack Nicholson in the original movie. He decides when he is younger, right after the Overlook Hotel has been destroyed, that he is going to turn off his powers. This little girl named Abra Stone reaches out to him, and he hasn't had his powers – his shining – on for twenty-something years since he was a little boy. And this little girl Abra Stone reaches out to him somehow and needs his help because she has the most powerful shining out of everyone in the world."

Interestingly, this pretty much reveals why Abra becomes the target of the True Knot, the cult that devours psychic children. But why is Abra reaching out to Danny? Non-book readers will have to wait to find out until Doctor Sleep premieres in November.

Lind will play Snakebite Andi in the movie. Kyleigh Curran has been cast as Abra while Rebecca Ferguson will portray Rose the Hat, the terrifying leader of the True Knot.

Doctor Sleep is scheduled for release on November 8.
